Last September at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony blew the lid off the Japanese lineup of PlayStation 3 games in development. Among the mahjong and mech games catered toward Japanese gamers was the next chapter of Brothers in Arms, the tactical shooter series set during WWII. Developer Gearbox later confirmed that BIA3 was indeed in the works for the PS3 when it announced that it had licensed Unreal Engine 3 to power the game.

Following in Sony's and Gearbox's footsteps, the game's publisher, Ubisoft, today officially confirmed Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway is coming to "next-gen consoles and the PC." In addition to the PS3, the game will be headed to the Xbox 360, but there was no mention of a Revolution edition.

The story follows the 101st Airborne Division once again as they drop behind enemy lines during the second World War. Familiar faces from previous BIA games, including Matt Baker and Joe Harstock, return to take on Operation Market-Garden, the war's largest airborne campaign.

Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway, the third game in the series, is scheduled for release this holiday season. No rating or pricing information has been released. However, all previous games in the series earned an M for Mature for their realistic depiction of wartime violence. Likewise, all Ubisoft games for the Xbox 360 have retailed for $59.99.
