Late last week, Activision Publishing announced that it would be undergoing some changes in management effective immediately. President and CEO Ron Doornink has been promoted to the newly created chairman position, and Michael Griffith, a former manager at Proctor & Gamble, will fill the vacated position.

Griffith will be responsible for Activision Publishing's operational management, including decisions made in the studio and corporate branches as well as publishing. Doornink, Activision Publishing's CEO and president since 2002, will "continue to provide direction in planning Activision's growth strategies."

Publishing division president Kathy Vrabeck, who had reported to Doornink, will now report to Griffith.

On Activision's Web site, Activision Inc. chairman and CEO Robert Kotick spoke of Griffith's new role in the company and said that "[Griffith's] track record of building global brands, managing large and complex organizations and successfully improving operating performance during his various assignments at Procter & Gamble will help us to achieve our ambitious plans."

Kotick also commented on Ron Doornink's newly appointed position, stating, "Ron Doornink has been integral to building Activision's market leadership over the past seven years. In this new role, Ron will continue to provide us with guidance and leadership as the company continues to grow."
