Comments

Good grief! Namco Hometek today announced that it has reached an agreement with United Media to create and publish games featuring characters from the Peanuts comic strip and its subsequent properties. The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will be in effect through 2009.

Created in 1950 by the late Charles M. Schulz, Peanuts still runs in newspapers across the globe in dozens of countries and in several languages. The comic stars Charlie Brown, the hard-luck prepubescent protagonist who can't catch a break, and his beagle, Snoopy. The strip has crossed over into other forms of media, most notably television holiday specials such as It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

Namco did not reveal any details on Peanuts games currently in development on any platform.
