Caan, Duvall, Brando to voice Godfather
Three original cast members will lend their talent to EA's game adaptation of the 1972 mob-movie classic.
Electronic Arts has added some serious muscle to its upcoming Mafia game, The Godfather. Today, the Hollywood Reporter reported that the publisher has hired two stars of the 1972 Mafia movie to lend their voice talent to its game adaptation. According to the trade publication, James Caan and Robert Duvall will once again play hot-tempered mob scion Sonny Corleone and cool-headed consigliere Tom Hagen, respectively.
The Reporter also revealed that the actor who won a Best Actor Academy Award for his role in the Godfather film will be posthumously appearing in the Godfather game. Shortly before his death last year, Marlon Brando recorded voice-over as crime elder Don Vito Corleone for the game.
In addition to their voice talent, all three stars agreed to allow EA developers to use their 1972-era likenesses in the Godfather.
Though Brando obviously can't make it, Duvall and Caan will attend EA's gala premiere of the Godfather on February 10. Appropriately enough, the game will first be shown to the public in the New York City neighborhood of Little Italy.
Currently, EA has not announced any specific consoles for The Godfather, although company officials have said it will be rated M for Mature. GameSpot will have more details on the game as they become available.
