Nintendo finalizes US DS launch titles
Super Mario DS, Spider-Man 2, Madden, the Urbz, and Mr. Driller will be in the first wave of titles for Nintendo's portable.
SEATTLE--Helping stoke the fires of hype leading up to the DS' November 21 release, Nintendo officially announced the initial list of North American launch titles for the portable device.
While the list sported staples of the US game market like Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 2005 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005, it also contained a few surprises. Sega's dating game Feel the Magic XY/XX--formerly known as "Project Rub"--will be on store shelves in November, as will Namco's Mr. Driller Drill Spirits and Ridge Racer DS. The complete list of US launch titles is below:
Asphalt Urban GT
Feel the Magic: XY/XX
Madden NFL 2005
Metroid Prime: Hunters (demo bundled with the DS)
Mr. Driller Drill Spirits
Ping Pals
PictoChat (built-in)
Rayman DS
Ridge Racer DS
Spider-Man 2
Super Mario 64 DS
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005
The Urbz: Sims in the City
Though numbering just over a dozen, the official launch titles will be followed by a slew of other North American releases, outlined in GameSpot's full coverage of the Seattle Nintendo event.
