JoWood secures Stargate SG-1 titles

JoWood announces a worldwide publishing agreement with MGM Television and developer Perception for games based on the <i>Stargate SG-1</i> sci-fi show.

JoWood today announced that it has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with MGM Television and Australian developer Perception for games based on the Stargate SG-1 TV series. Under the terms of the agreement, Perception will develop games based both on the current TV series and on any spin-off series, such as the upcoming Stargate: Atlantis.

"Stargate SG-1 is perfectly tailored for translation into video games. We are proud to work with Perception and MGM Interactive on such a big franchise," said Andreas Tobler, CEO of JoWood. "Stargate SG-1 is one of the most popular science-fiction TV series worldwide, and its story and surroundings fit perfectly with the video game audience. Together with Perception and MGM Interactive, our goal is to translate the success of the TV series to the game industry."
