You will have a lot of fun building your ride and racing in this great game.

User Rating: 8.4 | Need for Speed Underground PS2
Customization to your rides paintwork and performance has been growing popular during 2002 and with the movie 'The Fast and Furious' in the scene, EA developed a Need for Speed game which allows you to do just that.

Need for Speed Underground allows you to build your ride using custom parts as well as the performance and take it to the street and race against 3 other completers.

The games story takes is straight forward, you enter the street import scene and you win to be the best street racer there is. You meet friends who help you support you and one character who once in a while, gives you better performance on your ride.

The top feature in this game is the ability to customize your right, everything from body work, such as mirrors, side skirts and the hood to the body work, such as paint, vinyl and manufacturer labels. As well as that, each one has a fair amount to choose from. This being the best the game has to offer.

There are 111 events in the game, split between five modes, these are Circuit, Knockout, Sprint, Drift, and Drag. Each event allows you to choose a difficulty setting which are Easy, Medium and Hard, each awards you from different amounts of money if you win the race, the Hardest difficulty rewarding you the most.

Circuit is a straight forward around the track between 2 to 10 laps, the knockout involved you to race every lap, the last driver to finish the lap gets knocked out, the winner is the person who is left standing. The Sprint race where you race on a single track from A to B, it's easy.

Drift and Drag are two technical aspects to the game. In Drift, you have to perform drifts in a track, the type of drift depends, if you drift towards the walls where the borders are marked, you will be awarded with more points.

Drag is when you compete against 3 other cars on a straight stretch of road, you have to perform the gear shift in perfect timing to perform at better speed on your car which allows you to win the race.

The graphics and sound are excellent, which really do represent the games look and feel and also features a good set of car and part manufacturers as well, something Need For Speed is well known for.

The down side to the game is the AI is dull and a few tracks are mostly during the events so it gets repetitive after a while.

Considering it is one of the best NFS games created, it is worth playing, you wouldn't be disappointed.
