The first of the new generations of NFS racing from EA.

User Rating: 9 | Need for Speed Underground PS2
First of all, I have to say wow. They basically remade the whole series and the games. After the first PS2 NFS game, Hot Pursuit 2, they decided to change it up a little (ahem, a lot) and release Need for Speed Underground. The brand new featurs include a wide range of import and American cars including the Ford Focus ZX3, Nissan Skyline GT-R, Mazda RX-7, and Nissan 350Z. Although there are only cars below 320HP you can still make them very, very fast. The graphics are phenominal for a 2003 released game, and on the PS2. The game is also the perfect length and there are plenty of visual and performance parts to put on your car. With different race types like drag, circuit, and drift, it keeps you entertained. Sometimes, however, it can get frustrating. Luckily, you can do another race and come back to it later, so then it's fun again. This is a must have for the beginning video game street racer, as it shows you the basic ropes and has cars you can actually control (unlike the Corvette Z06 in Carbon). Even though there are no cops, it's kind of a good thing because that pisses me off some times.

EA really did a great job for there first try at a street racing game. I give Need for Speed Underground for the PlayStation 2 a 9.0 out of 10.
