NFSU+ Fluff+Bad Advertising = NFSU2

User Rating: 8.8 | Need for Speed Underground 2 XBOX
Need for Speed Underground 2 is basically the same game as NFSU 1, except for new cars, new parts, and a new huge city to drive your car around in. But this isn't necessarily bad. I mean, the first NFSU was a great game and was pretty addciting, and now, there's more of it. The gameplay is pretty good, only that I find turning to be a hassle. Trying to use the e-brake efficiently is a pain, and I find just letting go of the gas helps you to turn better. The sound is well done, the roar of the engine, the tires sliding across the pavement, the game really makes you feel like you're racing. The game also does a nice job of making sure you know that the upgrades are there. The car will sound different every time you make a siginificant upgrade to your car. The graphics are very well done also, but the blurring effect of the last game is not implemented as well here. The overall presentation is good, especially with the Cingular dude constantly on your screen for you to navigate your cellphone or GPS thing that you got in your car. Speaking of that... what the hell? Was that the 50th Best Buy I just past in the game? Hmmmm, there's a Burger King... and... shaving gel? Alright, this is getting a little outta hand. The advertising is so superblivious you won't believe it (The Simpsons). Other than that, what can I say? I am having a great time playing this game and the career mode draws you in a little bit more than last time. If you're into import tuners, or racing at all, you'll have a good time with NFSU 2.
