This series just refuses to fix the problems with game play.
To start off the AI your players are so stupid that at some points it feels like you're playing 1 on 11. Players stop after the route is done for about 2 or 3 seconds so that's pretty much a sack HB and WR screen are almost useless because the only people the blockers actually block are the players that are completely out of the play. Also the receiver often runs in to get the ball or in other word they run to the defense. Lastly on kick returns and punt returns the only one that is ever even around the returner when he catches the ball is you. So if you get blocked touchdown.
Now the controls the movement is very sensitive. So if the ball carrier moves even slightly in the open field or cuts up field on a toss he could send you flying in the wrong direction. The controls are more responsive then lots of other games but this is a foot ball so even the slightest hesitation could lose the ball game.
Finally there is the flurry of other problems that are more of annoyances. The annocers repeditly say something completely wrong or get mad at you when you go for it on 4 and 5 when your down by 7 with 52 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Also the lighting sometimes screws up sometimes and the sometimes prospects randomly go to a school that's not even in their top ten when there all ready to sign with you.
But this games an EA football game so it's really not that bad I would've gave it a better score but these problems haven't been fixed since buy these games became an annual tradition back in 06. They did fix the suction cup tackles since last year but that's about it if they want me to start buying their games again they need to fix these problems.
