The best college football game to date.
The newest mode is Campus Legend. Sort of like last year's Race for the Heisman, you are fresh out of high school, and the scouts are looking to recruit. This time around though, you have a choice to all of the positions, and the drills for each position are different (40-yard dash, pocket presence). In this mode, you still have a chance at the Heisman, but are given a popularity meter instead of Heisman hype. The more popular you are when you graduate, the more likely you are to be inducted in the school of your choice's Hall of Fame. As for the gameplay itself, there are some changes, mostly minor, but nonetheless are there. On kickoffs, punts, and field goals, you have an accuracy meter, and instead of hitting A to start the kick, you use the right analog stick, and the accuracy meter adjusts to the kick arrow. On onside kicks, instead of a field goal meter, a picture of the ball with a target on it to adjust the point at which you kick it, mostly to increase bounce is replacing the old kick meter. Also you have the 3rd person camera, which at the time, probably sounded like a good idea, but wasn't executed to perfection. Breaking one lose and returning for touchdowns is much more difficult because you can't see behind you, but it's only minor. There are some new trick plays, and the abort kick feature which allows aborting of the kick or punt if you think it is going to be blocked. I have found a tendency for the coverage to be beaten or caught on the fakes quite frequently, allowing receivers to be wide open for easy scores, so adjust adjust the gameplay sliders if this happens to you. All in all, this is the best college football game i have played yet, and is a great addition to your xbox library.
