My favorite game for the PS2

User Rating: 9.5 | NCAA Football 06 PS2
I effectively bought a PS2 in 2003 so I could play NCAA 04. This was my first console purchase since a Sega Genesis back in the early 90's. I have had NCAA 04, 05', and 06'. NCAA 06' gets a slight edge over the previous 2.

The Good: Deep Dynasty play. Formation Subs. The video clips of actual college football players in action is very cool. I especially liked the Randy Moss clip. The on-campus clips of students and coaches are also very well done. The Bad: Loading and simulation times. To me the Campus Legend mode, or whatever it is called, is lame. But, keep in mind I am a Dynasty freak. I played the Dynasty mode on this game for 25 plus seasons, playing all games each season. It is really deep. What is cool is if you get bored with your current team within the Dynasty mode you can simple take another job somewhere else and move on, rebuild, etc. without having to start over with a new Dynasty. The in season recruiting works well and really is your best opportunity to pick up some 4 or 5 star recruits. While playing the Dynasty mode for multiple seasons I actually discovered that if you build up a team, like say Tulane, there is the potential you will be invited to join a larger conference. I built Tulane up to a powerhouse and after several seasons was invited to join the ACC. Very cool considering I had no idea the AI would do this. Overall, good purchase and I highly recommend it!!
