Don't want to argue with others on here, especially GameSpot's reviewer, but this game is more like Destruction Derby...

User Rating: 3.1 | NASCAR 06: Total Team Control XBOX
I'm sorry, but I wonder how long most of you reviewers have played this game to give it such high scores?! I'll give the benefit of the doubt to GameSpot's reviewer, as he has lots of games to play in order to provide us with reviews. Seriously, I'm a NASCAR fan and in none of the series do drivers drive like these AI drivers in this game. It's as if you weren't even there, because if you're in front they slam into you from behind, if you're beside them they either slam you into the outer wall or inner wall, and if you're behind them and try to pass they just flat out wreck you! Is this EA Sports concept of NASCAR? Have they ever even watched a NASCAR race? That's just food for thought, folks. Also, like in their football games, they could have added the feature of tweaking the AI's abilities, because even in Rookie mode, these guys are just out there to wreck you! I guess most of you are real high on this new Total Team Control, but while it's a good concept, it's really worthless. Face it, most of the time you give a command to your teammates they answer NO, and isn't it bad enough to handle your own car than have to worry about your teammates?! The only function that works is the swapping of cars, but the mjority of the time you do this you wind up losing handle of the car you just swapped to, not to mention that on short tracks you really don't have the time to be messing with this Total Team Control, so it's basically just worth it on speedways & super speedways! Another thing is the game control, as using your game controller is a sure disaster, so you are practically forced to use a wheel, and not everyone can afford to go out and buy a decent racing wheel! Even with the wheel and best set-ups I found on the internet, the cars handling is very difficult, again mainly because of the AI drivers! Then there's the great in the Fight To The Top mode, where if you have success to progress, you can advance from Whelen to CTS, then to NNS, then NCS, but the schedules are combined, so you find yourself having to forfeit 1 series in order to race another..., GREAT! Come on, couldn't they have ran different schedules or just let you race 1 series and afterwards the other series in the same day??? By the way, if and when you do make it to the NNS series, in FTTT mode, there's a glitch which freezes the game, because the car you're suppose to be driving is already being driven by someone else..., TRULY GENIOUS! Aside from the name NASCAR, some drivers, tracks, etc..., this is just another racing game, NOT NASCAR, which for that you might as well just get games like Forza, Need for Speed, etc...! One final thing, it seems that video gaming is more geared at attracting online players, and forgot that there are some who still enjoy playing as a single player, which while to some this might be AWESOME, to me that SUCKS! Why? Because they should be able to cater to both, easily!!! All I know is that I truly miss NASCAR games by Sierra Sports/Papyrus, and since EA has solo rights to NASCAR, all I can do is update my year schedules, drivers/cars, etc..., which can be done easily via websites that still love Papy NASCAR games! So, I guess I'll stick to playing NASCAR on my PC until hopefully EA Sports makes a true NASCAR game! Finally, EA Sports might not read reviews on here and other gaming sites, but they have a forum at their site, and I suggest that those who feel like others and myself about this game, that they take the time to go their and post your thoughts, wish list(s), etc..., for NASCAR 07, 08, 09, etc...! But, with all due respect, I'm sick of EA Sports and their solo rights to 2 of the best sports titles, NASCAR and NFL, because I'm sure if they didn't we would probably have other companies/dvelopers that would put out some pretty good games, like ESPN 2k5 did with their NFL game in 2005, which was better than any Madden game! Bottom line, do yourselves a favor and rent this game before you buy it! You'll thank me for it!
