After having played Ultimate Ninja Heroes I was left with an incomplete feeling. There was no true to form story mode and the game consisted of nothing but fights separated by a few shouts between the opponents. I was glad that Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 added the story elements of the Phantom Fortress. Despite the addition of the story mode, the gameplay of the story mode was quite disappointing. There were 5 different types of rooms that the player could choose from, which dictated the gameplay. There was a battle room, as well as several "mini-game" rooms. The mini-game rooms interrupt the story mode and ulimately ruins it. Aside from that, this game is no different than Ultimate Ninja Heroes 1. The only real improvement is the addition of more characters. Overall a good game, but poor execution of the Fortress mode.
