Even if you arent a fan of the Naruto series, you will still have fun playing this game...
Ultimate Contest:
In Ultimate contest, you play as Naruto Uzumaki in an RPG style. The storyline goes that you are in a Battle-Royale torunament of Genin, Chuunin, and Jonin. (Genin being starter ninja and Jonin being highest rank). Your objective is to find crystals. Genin start off with 1 Blue Crystal worth 1 point. Chuunin and Jonin start off with 1 red crystal worth 5 points. You: Naruto Uzumaki, must roam around finding different genin and jonin to battle for their crystals. Each battle you win will grant you your opponents crystals. You can also find crystals that clumsy ninja have left around (like in Ichiraku Ramen Shop). Whoever has 60 crystals whe nthe first round of the tournament is done, advances. When you advance, there is no set points to get. Just get as many as you can. When the bell sounds, you face the ninja with the highest amount of crystals in 1-on-1 in the chuunin exam stadium.
Free Roam:
When youre done with Ultimate Contest, you will enter free roam mode. Thats when you go around finding missions for you to do, trying to succeed in highley ranked and very hard S-Rank missions. You may also unlock varius charcters like the past hokages. You may also "date" people.
Dating:
To date other ninja, basically find the ninja and give them a present (like training kunai knife). In return, when you fins them later, you get the luxury of dating them, They are ockward dates like with Neji or Jeriya, and wierd ones with Sasuke. You generally date other ninja twice before you move on and break up with them and go out with another ninja.
Hero's History:
In hero's history, its basically a story mode of Naruto's major battles. Its very easy to get through (about 2 hours to beat) 20 battles. It has epic battles straight from the t.v. show like Naruto vs Gaara and Naruto vs Sasuke.
Gameplay:
Overall, Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 is a very fun game to play for Naruto fans and non-Naruto fans alike. You have varius jutsu to customize with each characters and mind-blowing secret techniques, (some never seen from the show) Naruto Ultiamte Ninja 3 is basically a button-mashing game where you try to counter your opponents attacks and different justus.

The Bad:
game gets boring after you beat Hero's history and Ultimate Contest, only 1 secret technique limited to each character per battle, short storyline
