The anime is one of the best anime series but the game itself it's also very good. The story line is okay, it's almost the same as the anime's except some changes but it's still nice and pleasant. Many Bosses fights and few quests. The "free battle" mode is superb and the graphics are as good as they could be. The online battle mode is a nice surprise with the ability to fight other players. The strongest part of the game is the variety of the characters. But here is a problem too. The move sets are poor and it's obvious that they need an enrichment. Maybe the most annoying part of the game is the substitution system, which chances of success are almost 99%. So some nice and good looking combo attacks are not possible to be achieved. Generally you will have a nice time playing the game whether you see the series or not.
