Even though its short story and poor combat, Naruto Shippuden New Era can be an enjoyabe ride.

Most naruto games in the past has focused on the anime with each game doing it over and over again, Naruto shippuden new era actuly follows its own sstory that puts you in narutos sandels and travel the ninja world taking on the 5 Kages, Seeing as some crazied girl named Malice has replaced them all into identical puppets, its up to Naruto to save them.
You'll visit Nobuno Mt, Hidden Leaf forest, Village hidden in the sand and more.
After you complette the story stage on each level you can play through them again on "mission mode" they all range in different ways to complette each stage and unlock golden coins which can be spent on making naruto learn new moves and abilities. These missions can be anything like; reach the end in a certain time, finnish the stage with little health or no support characters used.

The face buttons are simple, One jump, one punch/kick and 2 jutsus. You start of with the basic 2combo and learn more as you progress through the story earning golden coins. The combat can get pretty bland and boring at times, To mix things up you can have suport charactures to help you fight or get to places you cant get to like using Sakuras mega punch to brake through walls, But other than using them for finding new areas there quite poor for battle and might aswell not bother.

Theres tons of things to unlock, Not only is there golden coins to find but hidden rooms when you find all 5 rooms you'll unlock sasuke as a playable charactures to use, woop!. You can also unlock other suport charactures and and use scrolls you find in stages to increase your health or attacks ect making naruto alot more stronger and theres allso the Sharingan Code, which is basicly a smarter way to gain DLC for the game.

The graphics are realy good, They capture the anime realy well and the Ultimate Jutsu attacks look pretty well, Even though they do seem abit bland and like they cant be bothered to use the attack. Its best to play this game in 3D, I've always said platformers will be good in 3D and i was right. The tress in the background and flowing rivers upfront realy looks three dimentional. The stages are bright and colourfull but there's not much verity in each stages, It should have alturnitive paths the reach the end or puzzle elements. There is however quick time events were you turn the device to its side or shake to get out of a sticky situation, These are fun for the...1st time, but after awhile it gets pretty pointless as your not rewarded for getting by it.

Naruto Shippuden New Era can be a pretty good game if your willing to give it a go, But its only for super hardcore fans and even then i dont know if they'll like it. Boring gameplay, Bland story and short. But the visuals and 3D are great and theres lots of unlockables and a replay value (if you can get pass the boring gameplay) to unlock golden coins.
