A great burst of Police Action mixed with Street Attitude make this a crown on the eighties.

User Rating: 8.4 | NARC ARC
Pros:
Excellent Gameplay
Game has many different paths to follow
Great beat-em-up and shooter feel

Cons:
Campaign is long, and because of that, only people who actually own the machine will see the true ending.

Bad Glitch Areas:
(This being an eighties arcade game, it is excused from this section)

Overview:
Not many games in the 80's made much of an impact, despite them being some of the first videogames, they seem very mediocre, even then. But then NARC came and introduced us to gritty, ultra-violent, filth-ridden, hardcore-shooting, hard-hitting action. The GTA of it's time, NARC is set in Washington DC, with you playing as two agents, Max Force and Hit Man (seriously) whose mission is to bring down Mr. Big, the head of an underground drug trafficking and terrorist organization.
Meanwhile, your other objectives mainly include bringing down the ringleaders of certain drug dealing gangs and infiltrating certain areas like an illegal narcotics laboratory and a cannabis greenhouse.
You will find the story is quite basic, but also quite lengthy, with 10 (11 including the Jackpot level) levels:
The Junkyard K.R.A.K. Street
The Bridge Sunset Strip Skyhigh's Nursery Downtown Red Level 1 Blue Level 2 Mr. Big's Office Inner Sanctum Jackpot! ...each about 20 - 45 minutes in length.
The two players are armed with an automatic and an RPG, but everything doesn't have to end in violence (although its alot more fun for it to) there is the option of arresting the perp.
So, in all, NARC is an excellent arcade game that should join the ranks of UMK3 and Tokyo: Most Wanted.
