User Rating: 6.2 | Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek PC
The “Nancy Drew” game series is a long one, and the 16th game, “The White Wolf”, follows the exact same formula of all the previous games.
You play as Nancy Drew, a young detective who’s called, yet again, to solve a mysterious case of sabotage, near fatal accidents and one white wolf.
This time the game takes you to the wilderness of Canada, were you’ll meet a lot of suspicious characters, make a lot of phone calls and clean a lot of rooms, all a part of the exciting life of a detective turned undercover maid.
The entire game takes place in a small sky lodge (two stories and a basement) and the surrounding frozen landscape, and after only 10 minutes you’ll see most of the environments available throughout the game. As in the previous Nancy Drew games you will encounter countless puzzles, ranging from cooking a simple breakfast to guiding a wolf through a trap-filled maze. Some of the puzzles are challenging and fun, while other are plainly annoying, like having to win a board game three times, each time with a different result, or a very repetitive snowball fight with an eight year old.

As for the graphics, the game looks a little better than previous one in the series, but compared to other 2007 released games, “The white Wolf” looks pretty pitiful. The character models look nice, and their movements and facial expressions look more then a little robotic. The background is nothing too exciting either.
Nancy Drew is still voiced by the same actress and most of the other voice acting is decent enough, but the same can’t be said about the dialog.

Bottom line is that “Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek” is just another Nancy Drew game, so if you’re a fan of the series, and don’t mind playing the same game over and over again, go right ahead and dive into another dangerous mystery featuring the ever young and ever alert Nancy Drew.
