Myst comes back once again

User Rating: 7.4 | Myst IV: Revelation XBOX
You are sent to investigate the motives of the two brothers that have been imprisoned in the ages. Thier mother believes that they have learned their lesson for their past crimes but their father is a bit skeptical. He has sent for you to be the final judgement on their fate. Low and behold there is another family member. A young daughter named Yeesha is dragged into all this. Are the brothers worth saving? or should they remain trapped forever? I put this game in the X-box and begin to play. I was very amazed at the graphics and sound. There is so much detail in ever click of scenery with animals, people, water, and tons of other things to make you stop and smell the roses. It contains plenty of motion video and a new musical technology. You will NEVER hear the same music track played over and over again. I have mixed feelings about the puzzles in the game. 25% of the puzzles are fun but the other 75% will have you swearing at the TV. Puzzles that make little sense and many times you will be wondering around asking yourself what the heck you are supposed to be doing. The majority of puzzles have to do with energy or power, making the right voltages. Take that as you want but to me a lot of those puzzles were annoying, extremely annoying when you don't really know what to do in the first place. You have to do a lot of reading and with an amulet the journals will be read to you which makes it nice. The control is HORRIBLE. There are puzzles where speed counts and which the X-box controller you'll be guaranteed to throw it across the room once or twice. This was the most frustrating part of the whole game. The interface is point and click 360 degree viewing. All in all its worth playing and besides the quirks its a pretty good adventure game. There is actually a little action in this Myst game, which is good for a myst game. If you like adventure games try it out. If the point and click interface doesn't make you pull the hair out of your head then you'll have a great time with MYST REVELATION.
