Fast paced and very addictive!

I bought this game pretty cheap thinking it would be good enough to entertain me for at least a little while, plus I haven't played many motorcross games, but I was shocked to see just how great this game was.

This game features a decent amount of play modes with a lot of gameplay options. You can choose to play through season, single race, time attack, challenge or freestyle.

Once you've chosen the play mode you can customise the bike class, your racer, your bike and much more things.

Freestyle is one of my favourite modes. It's you on your own performing as many tricks as possible in the time period in a huge stadium filled with ramps, hoops and various other things. Each stadium has a different theme and you unlock the stadiums by performing certain tricks and getting the highest score.

The season mode is also very good. You start off in the bottom class (easiest) and the more races you win the more money you make which can then be used to buy a new bike and enter in to a higher class. The Season mode can be completed fairly quickly but it offers a nice challenge.

The other modes are pretty average but are fun to play.

The gameplay is definately the highlight of the game. The bikes all handle very smoothly while racing along at a blistering pace. Tricks are simple to pull off and there are plenty to do. The AI racers are pretty smart and on the higher classes make it almost impossible to win.
The controls are simple to learn and very responsive.

Though this game is about 5 years old, the graphics are really good. Everything from the bikes and riders to the tracks is very detailed. The game also manages to keep up a steady pace, even when there's a lot going on on screen.

I like the soundtrack for this game. It's a mix between rock and dance with a few other genres thrown in.
The sound effects are great in this game. The bikes sound awesome and very realistic. There's constant noise from the audience which helps to get the adrenaline pumping. There's also a commentator. He can be quite annoying at times but there's the option of switching him off so it's not that bad.

MX Rider is definately a must have if you are in to motorcross games or racing games in general. It's pretty cheap and offers a lot of playability.
