Mutant Storm Reloaded Review.

Mutant storm is an arcade game that takes the general "shoot" everything on screen to advance the level". This is a much tamer game compared to the ever so popular game, Geometry Wars. This game is much slower and more pleasing to the eye. There are no super flashy colours that appear or anything if you find geometry wars too hard this would be the game to pick.

In Mutant Storm Reloaded you take the control of a "ship" which has a machine gun that needs to wipe out all the appearing mutants on the screen until they are eliminated. Where then it advances to the next level. If you manage to not die for long enough you will get a "multiplier" Which doubles, triples, quadruples etc your points depending on how long you survive.

Each level you complete you get a percentage that slowly goes up if you do not die. If you manage to stay alive for long time equivalent to 20 levels, your percent will go up to the next hundred percent. For each hundred percent you gain you get a ranked a higher belt which vary in colour as you go up and increase in difficulty. This is where a lot of the achievements are involved. When you have unlocked a belt you are given an option to start out the game next time already at that belt, this makes advancing in belts a tad easier.

During each level you get to collect power ups that give you better weapons for a short period of time, Shields that you keep with you through each level until you get hit once, or a spinner shield that lets you run through anything in your path. And you can get power ups that increase your score.

As you progress through the game you will verse harder and different enemies that will become harder, These involve enemies that have to touch you to kill you, and some that have ranged attacks or some that have shields. There are even some trick enemies that you cannot kill.

Each 5th and 10th level present you with a larger challenge, boss equivalent. They get harder each time, or they may be more you face at a time. These are where getting belts is hard because the chance of dying here is much bigger.

The best value for Mutant Strom Reloaded is the option for Co-op. This can be extremely fun. You each get to use a different ship. You will find advancing much easier than single player though earning belts will be harder because the chances of someone dying are doubled.

The sound in this game is very good because it is not techno doof doof, it is just a simple background music that is suitable for the games atmosphere. The acutal sound effects may be a little of the same stuff but its not noticeable enough to complain

This game is a very fun game especially if you just want to sit back and do something simple with a mate. The graphics are clean, the sound is a simple nice background music and is no where as hectic to Geometry wars.

I give the game 7/10
