The gameplay is decent, but the graphics are fabulous!

"Muramasa: The Demon Blade" is a game presenting the story of Kisuke (an amnesiac ninja trying to get back his memory) and Momohime(a possessed princess).

The gameplay is good, but a little shallow, as you will clearly see the lack of advanced strategy and the mash-the-button philosophy. You may find it frustrating when your blade breaks. The good thing is that you can select your game mode every time you load your game (between more-like-RPG-game, more-like-an-action-game and a very hard mode-after you finish the game).

The graphics are the best. Vanillaware shows us again what made "Odin Sphere" a fantastic game. By sticking to 2D, the designers yet again prove us that 3D is far too overestimated.

You can run through fields or on roofs, climb mountains and every time you do this things you will feel an irresistible urge to stop for a few seconds and watch the background art. Yep, just watch it!

The fact that you will find yourself jumping from branch to branch really reminds me of an old classic "Legend of Kage", for NES. It feels like a great re-imagining and maybe you will share the same nostalgia.

The sound is also good. I find the japanese music to be very immersive. The BGM fits every scene.
A little letdown would be the fact that there is little to no extra stuff. Beyond obtaining all the endings there isn't too much to do.

Well, this is it. A great game! Looking forward for future Vanillaware releases!
