albeit a few drabacks , arctic edge will you keep you coming back for more!
gameplay: wow. what a fun game. its just so exciting , it makes burnout look like a slow-paced sim... okay mabye not to that extent but the tracks are all different and offer bobsleigh inspired corners , huge ramps and daring shortcuts. The sense of speed could be improved though as you sometimes feel like the boost doesent really , well boost enough. All 8 classes of vehicles ( motorbike , ATV , big rig , snowmobile , snowmachine , buggy , rally car , snowplugger ) all handle and feel very differently. sometimes though you feel that other opponents are unfairly fast and some events might take quite a few tries to complete. but all in all one of the best gameplay of all psp racers.
controls: now these are quite simple and easy to master. the default acceleration/braking are the L and R buttons , which i favour , but you can change to X and sqaure. there are only 2 views on the vehicle but this dosent really matter too much , you'' probably be playing on the first view.
design: The graphics on arctic edge are something to be admired. I also thought prior to buying the game that it might be laggy. boy was it not! even though you'll mainly be focusing on handling you car , bike or truck ; you'll still take notice of the enviroment , which at times can be blocky , but does the job well.
extra feautures: there arent many race types in this game , only 3 , but for completing specific goals you will get "badges". also you can customize your vehicle and paint them , its good , but it dont expect to have infinite replay value.
