A really good game with a nice difficulty level and some beautiful scenery combined with brutal racing
It is for sure much better than the original first motorstorm for the ps3, especially when it comes to gameplay adding something new to the series - the Element of Ice which add to the game some new cool features. For example areas with deep snow will cool your engine down but also slow you down a bit while ice covered tracks will be reeaally slippery.
The AI is also better better though they still wants to crash you down rather than just winning but now everything runs much more naturally as you no longer see groups of 3-4 opponents working together and ultimately sacrificing themselves in order to crash you.
The developers have done a really great job making the levels and everything looks just beautiful especially on high altitudes where everything is snow covered (but that's just me).
The songs also fit great in the game (well, at least most of them) although you'll probably disable 1-2 of them,.
The game in general smoothly progresses in difficulty and it will really just be a cakewalk in the first 2-3 ranks although at the end it gets really tough. when you finally reach rank 8 (the final one) you will really have to push your skills a lot to progress.
In my opinion it's a game one should buy if he likes off-road racing cause that's what motorstorm gives: pure action without lots of prep
