It's got style!

User Rating: 9.1 | Motorhead PC
Motorhead got quite a bashing for being too superficial and flashy, and not interesting enough in the actual gaming department. While it is true that this is no in-depth racing sim, it produced a number of highly intoxicating speed thrills, although they would often result in crashing into one of the obstacles that lined the circuits. Still, just like a cartoon character, the car would just shake the dust off and continue the race undamaged. Actually sometimes you could use these features to bump your way past the competition by failing to brake in a hairpin and just bounce off the walls in front of the opposition -racing purists beware!

Still, the countless hours of fun I've had with this title cannot be neglected. After we unlocked the tracks and the very beautiful cars my friend and I would gladly sit and just play around with the cars on the tracks, using the cinematic camera angles and finding good spots for goofing about with the cars. The engine allows for very joyful burnouts and the scenery can be explored to good effect to make the cars jump, go off ledges and crash in a spectacular manner. The music remains one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard for any game. If you like arcade racing, this one is for you!
