Stay away from this game at all costs

User Rating: 3.8 | Monopoly GBA
At first glance, this might seem like a good game to kill some time with. However, that is definitely not the case. There are so many problems with this game that they outweigh the one or two positives. First, the positives. The graphics are good and very pleasing to the eye. Nothing too spectacular, but they definitely don't take away from the game. Sound is also not that bad, although the music does get repetitive if you can sit through this game long enough to complete it. Finally, the negatives. The overall layout of this game leaves a lot to desire. It is impossible to get a clear view of the board and who owns each property. You must go through each players game profile to see who owns each property. While playing, when you land on a space it tells you who owns the property, but only when you land on it. There needs to be some sort of color-coding system while looking at the board to determine who owns what. There is a total lack of any saving capability with this game. With a game of this length, that would really come in useful. You can set the length of the game and even designate properties for a quick game while setting the options at the beginning of the game. However you must complete the game without turning off your GBA, or the game will be lost. That is the major problem with this game, and if there were a save feature then this game would be a little more enjoyable. A few more options for viewing the board would be welcome as well instead of the close up view that is given in this game. You can see approximately five spaces at a time. An option for an overhead view or even from a lower angle would be a great addition as well. Overall, unless you are a die-hard Monopoly fan...this game is not worth your money.
