Everything you think Monopoly would be...plus some cheesy repetitive dialog to back that up.

Monopoly (1995) is just like the boardgame Monopoly with less thinking and more clicking. The good thing about this version of Monopoly is that the creators did not change anything about the classic. They did not take any huge chances, which is good. Just like the boardgame, they made more boards available to play on, such as New York, Washington, and other major cities.

Monopoly (1995) does not do anything graphically impressive. There are random lights that go across the board and follow your piece as it moves. The pieces also dance around the board when they are moving, which is the only movement you should plan on seeing. besides the dice.

Aside from collecting and losing money, there is an interesting auction system. If you think you could get a better deal on the property being sold, or just cant afford it, use the auction system. All the players participate in the auction. The auction is simple, simply put out the desired amount of money to keep out-bidding the other players, or just let the other players fight for it.

As far as the sound goes, it is good quality, but there is not much selection as to what the NPC's say. All together they probably have around 5 lines total, and they are all cheesy. Mr. Monopoly has the most lines, but he only says the obvious. If you are playing this game, you are better off playing it with the sound turned off.

Overall this is a pretty good game that is well done. This is a good way to pass the time by and have fun while doing it. But if you have to choose between the PC version and the boardgame, play the boardgame and be social!
