The best baseball game I've played in a long time.

This is the first baseball game I've bought in a long time and I'm glad I waited until this game to buy one. The learning curve on it is a little steep at first but once you get the hang of the controls it really becomes a lot of fun. Its incredibly satisfying to begin to learn how to work your pitches to a batter and set them up for a strikeout or at the very least to swing at a bad pitch and force a groundout. Its also fun to battle against a pitcher waiting for that pitch you can hit and finally getting one.

The fielding controls leave a little something to be desired though. Occasionally it feels like the computer doesn't always give you control of the closest outfielder to a line drive. Its resulted in the CPU getting a double or even a triple when it should've been limited to a single. Another quirk of the game is the frequency of bad throws from an infielder to the 1st baseman. This happens much more to the computer and I can typically count that at least once a game a routinue throw from a shortstop is going to sail over the 1st baseman's head and I'll get a free baserunner. Fotunately it doesn't seem to happen to human controlled players that often.

Even though the game has those few quirks I still think its a fantastic game and I highly recommend it to both first time and long time players of this series!
