Most adventure games that we've played over the years always gave were an idea and understanding on story plot, but when it comes to playing Missing Translation it throws you back to the old days where you had no story in games and you sort of have to figure out what is going on. As you start up Missing Translation straight away you are thrown into a black and white pixel world which looks really well detailed for an indie title.

You lost are weird city in the middle of the desert and surrounded by strange creatures that keep staring at you. This is a game about exploring the unknown and solving puzzles that's right puzzles. What makes this game really clever is that you are not given any help at all meaning no hints or clues you have to figure it out for yourself. Only using either the directional arrows or the mouse to point and click to move, plus using both E and Q throughout most of the game.

There are three different puzzle mechanics in the whole game but each of them have 25 levels to complete making it a total of 75 puzzles to solve which will make you scratch your head on thinking. But there is secret behind Missing Translation is that it has a decrypt a secret language if you manage to solve and understand the language you may be able to understanding on what is going on; neat idea to have in a game which has its own language thinking that you could easily understand it, wrong you have to draw patterns into a grid a bit like a phone lockscreen. You have to combine different lines, angles and inflections to create basic and simple sentences. This is pretty clever to see done which also has no text dialog in the game so you really do need to have a clear idea on what you are doing and helping your character out at the same time you can either play as a boy or girl.

With a unique soundtrack and well detailed 2D styled using 8-bit sprite animation this really does hold up well for an indie adventure game. Plus you really can't say no that Missing Translations is free to download on Steam you can also pick this up on both Android devices for a very small price but either it’s a free game or wanting to pay a little bit of money to have it on your mobile it is coming to iOS as well; Missing Translations has a load of puzzles in stock if you manage to find them all and solve them which will take you a while. But if you want to get through the main story on solving the three game mechanics can take you at least a good 1-2 hours to complete including Steam Achievements if you consider downloading this from Steam plus might be able to learn a new language along the way.
