This game is worth it on the go, despite a few flaws.

User Rating: 8 | Minecraft Dungeons: Ultimate Edition NS

The good: combat is fun both melee and arrow shooting, co-op is welcome at best, graphically looks good and sounds great, reason to use loot in this game.

The bad: Crowds and difficulties can be a pain, lack of customizations when it comes to weapons, armor and character design, lack of guide to finding specific treasures in each level.

This is pretty much like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 and 2, the X-Men and Marvel series, it's a simple action-packed game that focuses on loot and defeating tons of enemies while coming by treasures and puzzles.

Even though it's a no-brainer, you'll be outmatched if you don't do it in its recommended difficulty in order to get powerful weapons, armor and using bows. Also, you need artifacts like health regeneration, rockets and like controlling enemies for a short time or using an ally to help keep the crowds under control. Going up in difficulty would easily go into an easy death without that critical equipment.

Graphically and sound is pure Minecraft. It's not exactly polished and crisp but it's distinctive enough to stand apart from other games without being overly complex. Last of all, it worked pretty well for Nintendo Switch for both docked and handheld mode.

In terms of replay, there's three distinct themes: woods, dungeons and castles. The second involves snow, mountains and water. Last involves netherworlds, lava and ruins. If you can handle the levels at ease, you'll be rewarded with weapons, armors and bows. Also, co-op is there to help with crowd control. Without giving it away, there would be many more easter eggs with level surprises and requirements to unlock slots etc.

It's highly recommended for people who might've gotten tired of just playing Minecraft and want something action oriented within the same name but with Dungeons added to it. But it would be a turn off if it gets too overpowering in higher difficulty weapon. Also, there's no customization option for anything and knowing how to unlock hidden treasure could use a guide to it. Still, there's enough reason to enjoy playing this game as there is enough meat on the bone to make it last as Minecraft. I hope in the future, they would open up to more genres like racing, music, fighting like Super Smash Bros and even real time strategy like Age of Empires 2. Enjoy playing this game if there's nothing to do to pass the time.
