Military Madness is simply that: madness. It slowly creeps on you and envelops your life - and in a very good way.

As I look through my Wii, I'm still not sure exactly what pushed me to fork over the six dollars to buy this game - but when I started playing, I realized it was well worth it.

I have never owned, nor have I played, any of the Advance Wars games - I've always wanted them, but just never seemed to bought them. From what I can gather however, the Advance Wars series features two sides going at it, as with most war-time strategy games. You build units, you attack, you replace them, fun and easy strategy.

If that's easy, Military Madness is a few steps away from it. Be warned: it isn't easy. You are given the troops you begin with - and that's about it. They can gain experience, but you have to make do with what you have - with the rare exceptions.

The graphics in this game are downright bad. Awful is to negative for such a great game - but there's not much more to be said here. Military Madness was never made for its incredible design - it was made for its great strategy, its intelligent AI.

Speaking of intelligent AI - you rarely find such an old game with such skilled computer opponents. Now and then, they might make a gaff, but it's so rare... Normally you win, you have to weigh so many different options. Should I go on the attack? But if I go on the attack, my infantry are left behind... and the only way to take an enemy base is with infantry.

Pretty much... its these moments, the nervousness the sweat as it runs down your neck - this is what makes Military Madness such a great game. That, and on top of that, rarely will you find a game nowadays so engrossing, where you can just sit back and watch time go by.

So, go and get it - it's only about six bucks.
