Took me a bit to get the hang of this one, But once I did I was really into it. After playing HOI3 this once was a real refresher. The writer that gave HOI3 a good score must not have played it. Although that game was more in-depth was broken even after 2 patches still broke. But EAW although not as deep proved the game was most interesting to play. You have 5 areas for research, AIR,Navy,General(Ind),Armor and Inf.This is a turn base which I do prefer to play, not having to greatly micr mgt the game.Details of units are superbly done.Russia winters actually has an affect on game.play. Build your navy (subs) to stop the flow of Lease lend PAC of the allies. When you start the game you have a choice of either Allies or Axis, It would have been nice to offer a few more sides to play .Only issue I found was saving the game and a few small issues with the AI.
I certainly would recommend that war gamers give this one a go.
