If only Glass Joe were real. I need a punching bag.

User Rating: 8.7 | Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! NES
Is it just me, or is Mike Tyson one of the hardest final bosses of all time?

Well gameplay is simple. Move left or right to dodge, press down to block, press the A or B buttons to punch, and press up while pressing A or B to punch the face. Now since the game is always moving in the match, it is intense. The first 6 boxers or something like that are easy for the most part. Once you get to Bald Bull, it starts to get interesting because you encounter your first opponent with a move that brings you down in one shot. It gets harder from there. Especially when you have to face him again. Anyway, this game is very difficult and can be very frustrating. It's still loads of fun though.

Graphics are great for this time. Audience acts like it actually exists, game moves very smoothly, Mario just looks awesome (but doesn't he always look awesome?).

The music is decent. The boxing music gets old, but most of the time, you're not listening to it because you wanna win the fight. To win the fight you must stay focused. This music is okay, but what can you expect? It's not going to be superfast rock 'n roll music like in Baten Kaitos, a completely different game that is irrelevant to this review. I dunno what the addiction level of this game was back when it came out in 87, but I can imagine that it was pretty high, and I did play this for a decent amount of time. It's one of the shortest games alive, but for diehard fans, this can last a long time.

This is a must-have for any NES owner. It's no Super Mario Bros. 3, but it's good.
