I never played the original Metroid on the NES and the only Metroid I played before this was Fusion when it was released a little over a year ago. I was pretty impressed with the graphics. They were pretty good as were the controls. Very easy, nothing complicating or confusing. The sound was alright, nothing too special. As far as gameplay goes, it's like Fusion, run around shoot stuff, get upgrades, etc. The fact that you unlock the orginal Metroid after beating the game is pretty cool, but after playing the updated version, the original is really kinda bad. The game, as stated before, is very very short. This being my second Metroid game, I beat it in under 5 hours. The game is not terribly difficult either, though there was one or two bosses that were annoying. There's not a lot of incentive to go on playing again unless you want to unlock the 8 different endings. I was kind of hoping for more bang for my buck, so therefore I don't really think it's worth the $30. I don't think it'll go down in price but unless you're a huge fan of Metroid and want to unlock all the different endings and want to play the original Metroid then by all means go for it. It's definately not a bad game, don't get me wrong, I just don't think it's worth for what retailers are charging right now.
