a truely spectacular game...but pitifully short.

Well, a few years ago, a little GBA game called Metroid Fusion came out. It was incredibly fun and engaging, but woefully short. Well, for 2 years we waited for the Chozodian Warrior, Samus' next mission.

We finally got it.

And it is probably one of the best remakes of all time.

This is a remake, of the original NES Metroid. It plays like Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, and follows the same basic plot of Metroid, but with better graphix, sound, and cinematics.

There an absolutely massive world, considering this is based on a 20 year old NES game. There are also new weapons, new enemies, and a whole new ending, that is again spectacular.

Ultimately what drags this game down, is that is downright short. I beat the game in a little more than 5 hours, just like Metroid Fusion. Now make no mistake, those were probably the best 5 hours I've ever had with a handheld game. This is probably one of the best portable games ever, but is just too short. This wouldn't be an issue if we got games like this more often.

But Metroid Prime Hunters on DS came out, and for a Metroid game it was dissapointing. The single player didn't feel at all Metroid-ish, and although the multi-player was fun, it didn't make up for this.

So now what? The only other known Metroid game in development is Metroid Prime 3. What about 2D Metroid? Let's just hope that there is a new 2D Metroid on the way, and that it will be just as good as Zero Mission and Fusion.
