Metroid Prime is perhaps the best creation of an action adventure shooter Nintendo has ever made.

You are Samus, a very lethal warrior, with a suit of armor that covers your whole body. In case many people didn't know, Samus is a woman. It's not hard to figure out. If you would stand her side by side with Master Chief, you'd notice the difference. Anyway, she's was a woman trained by an ancient race known as the Chozo. Now Samus may look like your average blond woman, but that's where you'd be wrong. That's also where you'd be dead, as Samus has had enough training to snap your neck in an instant. Samus was sent to a nearby space station after getting an incoming transmission, signaling the station was being attacked.

You start off by entering a large space station, which deploys a force field keeping you from getting out. This serves as your training grounds. Here you are taught how to auto-aim, manually aim, roll into the classic Morph Ball and how to fight. Once the tutorial is over your tasked with fighting your first boss, a Parasite Queen. In case you didn't notice before, most of the Space Pirates had been badly wounded, shooting you from the ground, or had been infected. Very few of them actually were in good condition. The Queen is the source of the distress signal. Once you kill her, wouldn't you know it, a count down appears. Apparently the ship tries to self destruct, possibly caused by a Space Pirate to make sure the station dosn't infect anything else. On your way out, you'll notice the game's second to last boss, Ridley. Yes, you never actually fight him til the end, which is good, because your not equipped well enough as of now. Before your final escape, an explosion smacks you into a wall, severely damaging your suit, destroying most of your stuff. You are left with your plain blaster. Eventually you get to the exit, hop into your ship, and pursue Ridley.

Ridley escapes however after leading you to a planet, which it's atmosphere causes you to crash into the ground. You are then on your own, finding upgrades for your suit, and trying to track down Ridley. This game is quite long, and full of puzzles, possibly rivaling Resident Evil, as well as getting you turned around in places if your not sure where to go. The game also can scare you if your not expecting something to jump out. Every enemy is unique, ranging from Space Pirates and Metroids, to simply the wildlife of the planet.

All in all, this was a very well done game by Nintendo, and possibly my favourite Nintendo based game series of all time. Good job Nintendo, you'd make one hell of a survival horror game.
