Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Not as good as the first but still delivers.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was not quite the incredible sequel that I was crossing my fingers for but it still had its strong points.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes has several of the same things that made Metroid Prime such a great game. The whole thing is done in first person mode, something that made Metroid Prime so much fun. You also have your all too familiar jumble of weapons, missiles, bombs, and the works. A new things is the introduction to the "echo" world.

I guess one of the biggest disappointments to me was the fact that the second game appeared too cookie cutter; if you get my drift. It felt as if they had taken Metroid Prime, copied it, pasted it, and then added a few more details. When I had first heard what was going to be in the second one I had expected the game to be an improvement, but it felt exactly the same.

Final word: If you liked the first Metroid Prime this is an ok sequel, but I'd rent before you buy.
