Samus never should have opened her big yap. Our favorite intergalactic bounty hunter is the toughest, grittiest woman you'll ever meet, unless it's in this game, we finally found out what she's like under that cold armor. It has an engaging story, but after snoozing through the first half hour of cutscenes, you'll have a good idea of who she is. It is a wonderful interquel, and makes a fine "mistake" entry that all nintendo's franchises seem to have. You will not find better graphics for wii, they are fantastic, but can get hazy. It is nothing like the previous games in the series, exploration and isolation are thrown out the window in favor of being bossed around by your former CO and knowing exactly where to go. Sorry, but you cannot leave the beaten path. The story is full of twists and plot twists and betrayal, with little clue as to what happens next. Fans of fusion will be delighted by the gameplay. The controls work surprisingly well, making moving and aiming feel very natural with a D pad and pointing, but you may feel lazy with the auto-aim feature. The challenge level is significantly lower than previous games, enemies don't drop health, but missiles are practically infinite through concentration, so if you want to die a couple times while playing, you'll have to unlock hard mode. Like other 2-D metroid games, you can beat this in just a few hours, granted you skip cutscenes. This is a fun game, if you don't mind a naggy protagonist, a low difficulty level, and a slightly different formula.
