Many frustrating moments hurts what could've been a masterpiece. Metroid Prime Trilogy is the one to get.

I've played EVERY Metroid game that has ever been released, although its refreshing playing a different approach to Metroid, I found myself wishing this game was more.

Let me explain, I love puzzle elements to any game, as long as the developer has put some effort as to giving the player hints on what to do, without giving it away. I find myself to be extremely frustrated when I should be enjoying this game. I'll give you an example that repeats itself too many times.
For some reason, the developers find it necessary to investigate in the first person, forcing you to look around, not allowing you to revert back to the normal view. They don't give any hints on what to look for, they just put you there and expect you to figure it out. I've found myself going to Gamespots game guide, because I'm getting stuck on a design error.

Luckily, I'm able to pass these frustrating moments and move on.
The combat is good, but its not quite practical switching to first person in the heat of battle. I find myself losing alot of energy too quickly. Thankfully, the developers must have realized this, thats why they implemented a way to recharge your energy when its at dangerously low levels.

I don't care for the voice acting or the story whatsoever, Samus sounds really depressed, and her fellow co workers are real boring. In my opinion, Metroid games are best when you feel like you're all alone, whoever thought it was a good idea to put more characters with roles should be shot on sight. LOL, but seriously, what this game lacks more than any other Metroid game, is the ability to explore and take different routes.

Maybe I'm judging this game too harshly, but when you have another excellent Metroid game thats been on the market for years now, *cough* Metroid Prime Trilogy *cough* Retro Studios is the best *cough*
Its really hard to enjoy this game.

With that being said, I do think you should give this game a try, I just don't think you should shell out $50. Definately a rental at best.

This will conclude my review, thanks for reading.
