A very immersive and jaw dropping FPS that could have been even more polished.

Storyline
8.5/10
-The story was very compelling and immersive , but it could have been much better explained at sometimes . Like why do the ghosts have to relive their pasts during the journey with khan , Why do the dark ones attack humans etc. The plot has its shining moments though , like the times where the Dark ones save Artyom in the visions and try to communicate with him .

Mechanics

-I dont know whats the hooza over the gunplay in metro 2033 . Its one of the best in my opinion as it really makes u think before u shoot rather than just point and click.Human enemies can prove to be frustrating with their armour but it can be overcomed with skill. The weapons are also very satisfying to use.
My only gripe is that the blood / gore isnt too much and it may be hard to see at times whether u hit the target with ur shot .

Graphics
9.5/10
-So far , its the only game that makes my 5870 struggle at DX 11 on very high settings . but even at DX 10 very high with AAA anti aliasing , the visuals are jaw dropping and can probably pit itself against Crysis. The only flaw they had in visuals was the resuse of face models in NPCs and overall the character art work wasnt reallly great .. the characters look too generic and i had problems identifying the NPCs during my first playthrough.

Overview
-If you are a FPS /horror fanatic , Metro 2033 is a game you would want to get with its fantastic atmosphere , compelling story and remarkable gunplay. For anyone else though , i suggest a rental first because the game is very much either love it or hate it for some players.Even with steep hardware Requirements and bad reviews from IGN , pick up this game and you would find this game very much not as described like those in the negative reviews.
