2D Side-scrolling Shooter Goodness!

Metal Slug 3 is a perfect port of the The Arcade Game. A super fun 2D Side-scrolling Shooter. It features three diferent Character syou can play as and also has co-op mode. You basically fight wave after wave of oponenents as you make you way from the left of the screen to the right. Each level features a few different branches you can take and all end with the customary Level ending Boss. You have plenty of Weapons that ypu pick up as power ups. Rocket Launcher, Machine Gun, Trackers etc. All have great Animations and sound even if they are a bit cartoony. Actually the whole game is a bit catoony but that is part of its appeal. The graphics are a dead on port & full of color. A bit more rough edge than most graphic slaves care for these days but they're perfect for what they are supposed to be. The Game play is rather simple shoot & jump plus some fun vehicles to ride in and shoot from. While the play control is simple, the game itself is very hard. the continuing setting is very tough as it starts you back at the begining of the level when you continue after spend all of you lives. If you play solo you might need to have an extra controller plugged in to start up a new player right before you spend your last life to avoid frustration. It is a bit cheap playing that way but if your stuck it beats breaking your TV with a thrown controller. All in all Metal Slug 3 is an old school side scrolling treat for your Xbox
