It's like taking an atom and smashing it against a pyramid of awesome and manliness, making little bits of perfect.

User Rating: 9.5 | Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes GC
I'm a harsh reviewer. Really, it's perfect. It has no bad aspects. It has perfect controls. It has the most interactive boss fights in the history of my life. The P.M. fight is FANTASTIC. Solid Snake is one of my heroes. He is the essence of manliness and stealth. The game has the perfect storyline for -dare I say it?- a "Usual Suspects"-caliber movie. From the get-go, you use every control on the pad to sneak your way through the (I feel) most recognizable starting screen of all time. You make your way around choosing who to kill, tranq, or just beat the crap out of. Snake, though the essence of awesome, can't take too many hits; the game is just too realistic. The weapons are all realistic and the enemies exhibit realistic actions: they'll need to use the toilet, take naps, and eat. Most of the time, especially on the harder difficulties, they're busy shooting you. My only complaint was that it was just too short. Think of MGS:TTS as the "Director's Cut" of the original Metal Gear Solid. It's full of extended and beautified cut scenes, character depth, the ability to tranq enemies instead of killing them, and a new cut scene where the ninja explodes in rage against a bunch of guards. This isn't really a spoiler because this isn't really essential to the story since you never saw this scene in the original.

Graphics- 9.5
Just a bit dated. No real flaws.

Sound- 9.5
Nothing bad here. Sometimes you want to strangle the bad guys, but that's normal.

Control- 9.0
Takes about 10 minutes to get the hang of the game.

Difficulty- anywhere from skipping through the daises to AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! It's variable.

*Slight spoilers*
Replay Value- 8.5 ish
Has two distinct endings, each unlocking a different reward. Either unlocks the AAAAAAAAA! difficulty.

Story- off the scale
There's a reason that I saved this one for last. Its story is so finely tuned that if the graphics were awful and the sound was mediocre and controls were really crappy the story would make up for it. The story was...perfect.

Overall- 9.5 (really a 10)
Stop reading this. I can't write for crap and you're wasting time not spending the $20 it costs to own this masterpiece. GO NOW! BUY IT!
