a remake of mgs1?! sounds too good to be true...

and sadly it is. Though metal gear solid: The Twin Snakes, IS a great game, it doesnt match up to the origional.

The graphics for this game are every bit as good as Metal Gear Solid 2, and are probably some of the best on the Gamecube. what annoys me however is the brightness of everything! the origional game had kind of a "oh no i hope i can get out of here" darkness in every room that made breaking into enemy territory feel real, this one seems more "oh i can do this" i dont really care for it, but to each his own. a good part of the graphics though were the improved cutscenes. they are much more detailed, and rather enjoyable to watch, occasional they get pretty funny as well.
the addition of first-person aiming is very nice, along with traquilizer darts. it works the same as it does in MGS 2. This makes some areas in the games give you more opportunity to strategize.

unfortunately, this game is much easier than the first, which is good for some, but i didnt like it, defeating the final boss felt like much less like a accomplishment.
The one thing that really bothered me about this game were the voice actors. the first game had no-short-of the best voice acting ever in a video game. for some reason they redid it all. its still decent, but nowhere near as incredible as it was before.

to sum it all up. if you have a gamecube (or wii) buy this game, if you have a psone, just buy the origional.
