Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a brutal, vicious, action-packed, thrill ride.
The core game-play in Metal Gear Rising is fast, fluid, and most of all entertaining as hell. The main, new, feature that's offered in MGR is what's called Blade Mode. This, basically, lets you dismember whatever organ you'd like to eviscerate. It's gory, it's brutal, and it will downright put a smile on your face. One thing, though, that I didn't care for was the last boss fight - it, really, took away from the experience. It seemed, to me, the company drew this battle longer than it really should have been. Plus, the villain was downright annoying to listen to.
The graphics in MGR are not why you should play this game; there solid, but nothing to talk about. The environments are bland; you, usually, feel like your fighting in barren wasteland. The textures, at times, look questionable - but, again, the game-play is why you're going to play this game not because of the graphics.
The replay-ability factor in MGR is solid as well. When you complete the campaign, which takes very little time, you can choose another difficulty level and try again. There is a new-game plus feature; for those who don't know what this is; basically, you can transport the data you used for your previous playthrough a second time in another playthrough - if that made any sense. There are collectibles to hunt down - ranging from cutting off left arms to finding men hiding in boxes. It's hilarious; though, a little frustrating at times.
Throughout your adventure, you'll come across small computers which give you access to what's called VR Missions. Basically, it's like a Batman: Arkham City challenge map: you complete the objective in a certain amount of time while performing a certain amount of tricks - it's good, but shouldn't be the main reason to play this game.
Overall, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a brutal, vicious, action-packed, thrill ride that will satisfy the need to slice people up into a million pieces of hamburger.
