This game's only major set back may be that it failed to top MGS4 which honestly is a really hard thing to do.

User Rating: 8 | Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PS3
MGSRising is the successor to the PS3 MGS4. It has all the familiar friends and foes and gameplay/story of a typical Metal Gear Solid game, but this time Kojima decided to cast aside the typical stealth oriented gameplay for a more hacky-slashy type of game. They did not disappointed. A well scraped up Raiden returns in an enhanced suit to take on the world with his sword and skills. MGSR takes a new and different approach but fans of the old metal gear solid games will not be disappointed or insulted. The story is immersive and it does keep you occupied so you don't feel like you're just hacking and slashing through levels. The Boss fights are a bit difficult and can be a bit frustrating, but nothing new for those who aren't new to the series. Raiden takes the pilot chair and drives you through the game, with the assistance of friends from the old series which you'll encounter from time to time. I found the game to be a lot of fun, but I wasn't exactly blown away, which like I already mentioned, isn't something I was expecting due to the extreme standards I'd already set after playing MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is a solid game and will give you your money's worth. Kojima makes another masterpiece. If you're a fan of the series and you haven't already picked this up, you'd want to check it out. If it's not worth a buy, it's at least worth a rent.
