What a wonderful title that I hope gets a sequel.
The game is a standard platformer/shooter where you go around and collect chips, try and discover what happened to you, collect weapons and destroy the enemy army. Along the way you can control other robots and ride in vehicles. Now this sounds pretty typical, but the beauty is in how well Swingin' Apes implements all of these into the game with ease and makes it all fit together so well.
The multiplayer aspect was also done very well with a variety of different maps to choose from.
I really hope that this game gets a sequel because it really deserves it. Hopefully Vivendi will revive it with another developer since Swingin’ Apes was purchased by Blizzard and then absorbed into their other teams.
