A big dissapointment for the Mercs Fan

Alright, I admit: I did have fun with Mercs 2. And I admit that I liked blowing up everything in sight. But that's pretty much where the fun ends.

Good: Blowing everything up is fun for a while, you get to nuke dudes
Bad: Lackluster story, too much health, large weapons are way too weak

Oh, fans who say that this is what the game is all about, what are you thinking? I suppose that you think that I am extremely strange. That is FAR from thte truth. I am actually being generous, if you look at the review from Gamespot.

The real nice thing about the game is that you can blow anything up. Anything. Why run over a civilian when you can burn down a forest? Why do missions for China when you can drop a Nuke on them? However, the thing is, that weapons look like they aren't doing anything at all, even though they're severely overpowered. With exploding weapons (C4, RPGs, Airstrikes, Grenades, ect.), it's even worse. They have small explosions, they lack enough firepower to kill dudes occasionaly, and all airstrikes have the smallest blast radius in the world. The nuke is notorious for this: while a Modern-Day Hydrogen Bomb would take out all of England and Ireland, these babies struggle with taking down more than three buildings at a time in a big city!

The story is fairly forgettable, and since the missions are repetitive, it just gets worse. Sucks, huh? At least the map is big.

However, I just couldn't get it straight: I had fun. Seriously: I did. The online is nice and adds some attention, despite some unforgiveable glitches. Like I said, blowing stuff up is fun. And the graphics: despite some odd-looking edges and textures, they were colorful and had some nice bloom-lighting.

You could rent Mercs, and play it online with a friend and a steak, but that's the most you could get from it. PS: GTA fans, you lose money for hurting civilians. it starts with 5K, but for me, it once reached 512K.
