Megaman is born, and it creates an awesome franchise.
The Megaman series is always going to challenge you but the first Megaman would make an inexperienced gamer go beserk. I mean it is the only one with points, and sometimes getting a energy tab or power tab is hard, because most of the time, they give you little pellets that do nothing but give points.
Like the rest of the classic series, you beat a robot master and get their weapon, and in one of the stages, you get a magnetic arm that makes traveling a bit easier.
While the newer Megaman games have 8 robot masters, this one had only six, all with cool names, and all are very recognizable.
So even with its' flaws, this is a great way to begin a franchise, and with five more on the NES, fans will expect more blue robot fun.
