Mega Man X: Command Mission is a fun game deserving of a sequel.

Me, approximately one year ago: "Wouldn't it be great if they made RPGs for all my favorite game characters like Mario..." (I know there are already 3, but I was talking about a new one) "and Mega Man X, and Star Wars?" Well now, Paper Mario 2, Mega Man X: Command Mission, and Star Wars KOTOR later, I am very pleased. When I heard of a Mega Man X rpg I was exceedingly excited and have ravenously eaten all news about it ever since. Mega Man X: Command Mission is a great first RPG for the series, and I hope they make some sequels. Gameplay: First off, the story. You have to play MMX CM with a certain mindset. That mindset is to take the game just as seriously as it takes itself. You don't want to think of how Mega Man is some little dude who blows stuff up in pixelated graphics, you have to go into this game like you would any other RPG, with an open, unbiased mind. That said, I did so, and have enjoyed every single piece of storyline. Although its nothing epic in proportion or show, it is adequate enough to be interesting. Battle System: as with any RPG, you are going to spend a lot of time with the Battle System, so you sure as heck better like it. MMX CM has an interesting battle system, a very traditional turn based battle system with some really fun twists. First off, each round, there is always so much your single character can do. You can fire your secondary weapons, followed by your primary, you can go into hyper mode to lay some serious smack down on a boss, or you can initiate a Final Strike (uber fast, uber furious killing move) on enemies that u take health down by 75% in a single turn. All of this makes the battle system exceedingly enjoyable (although it doesn't come close to Star Ocean: Till the End of Time in terms of sheer gameplay fun). Exploring: Also very fun, you can boost to break crystals which contain items (something that took me a few times to realize), but that is the only platformer game mechanic carried over from Mega Man's usual fare. The rest is exploring the admittedly linear environments, which is very enjoyable, because it is all very well done graphically. The only reason the gameplay suffers is because although it seems consistently fun, it is so exceedingly linear, and sometimes repetitive. Graphics: Speaking of graphics, these graphics are awesome. The cel-shaded look is very well done, and everything is bright and eye catching. At one point I got a look at the sky, and stood X next to this balcony so I could look out on the awesome clouds and sky effects (concidering i dont get to look at the sky much myself, too many games to play). Very nicely done, however not on par with some other games. It still is deserving of its 'great' score. Sound: The sound is well done as well, sound effects are suitable to their use, and the Voice Overs don't suck (perhaps a Capcom first!) However, the musical score, although not bad, is easily forgettable and uninspiring. Value: 40$ may be a bit much for the projected 15-20 hours, so I intend to glean far more than that, but if 15 hours is all you are going to do, you may want to wait for the price to go down. Tilt: This is an exceedingly short, but very, very enjoyable game. I really hope that they make a sequel with a longer storyline.
